Chapter 1 - Take 1

A Blog About Movies Based on Books. Because I love books and I love movies. But a movie based on a book? That's pure heaven. And sometimes hell.

About Me

My Photo
Sim Carter

I started my Chapter1-Take1 blog in order to share ideas on books and movies so I don't drive my friends crazy saying 'did you know that was based on a book?' constantly!  I used to write short stories and articles; a few of which have been published. You can read some of them at my other blog, Sim Carter's Stories. While I no longer write for a (terrible) living, I miss writing and the creative outlet it affords.  So like everyone else in Hollywood I'm working on a script. And I blog~ My husband works in the film business and our son is a fledgling director teaching himself the ropes. I trace my love of reading back to my mum who used to take me on regular trips to the library where we would depart with stacks and stacks of books in our arms. Is it any wonder that the man I married used to sit on the curb with his nose 'stuck in a book' while his friends were out playing baseball! These days my stacks are virtual ones as I do most of my reading on my Nook. If you have a Nook too, I have a few books available to borrow in the Nook library. And if you purchase a book from the store or through a clickable cover, please know that I do receive a small percentage from Barnes & Noble. Thanks for visiting Chapter1-Take1 where I'm hooked on discovering, sharing, ranting and raving about bookish movie news.
